Version: v2.6.0+
Starting from v2.6.0, the CSL Plugin Management window (accessible via Menu → Tools → CSL Plugin Management) includes a Style Management panel where you can view, acquire, edit, and organize your personal style library.
Browsing Your Styles
For added personal styles, you can:
- Filter by keyword, subject category, or source
- Sort by name or last updated time
Pinning Styles
Use the context menu to pin frequently used styles to the top. Pinned styles will also appear pinned in the Writing Plugin.
Adding New Styles
From the Public Style Library
Click “Get More Styles” to browse the public style library. You can search and filter by keyword and subject category.
Preview a style’s citation effect directly in the list, then check the box and click “Add to My Styles” to add it to your personal library. Added styles are automatically filtered out in future searches.
Upload Local Files
Click “Local Upload” to upload a .csl file from your computer to your personal style library.
Editing Styles
To customize a style:
- Create a copy of the style (via “Create Style Copy”) to generate an editable custom version
- Choose between two editors:
- Visual Style Editor — Edit style rules using a visual interface
- Code Style Editor — Edit the raw CSL code directly
Note: Remember to save your changes before closing the editor.
Deleting Styles
- Public styles removed via the menu can be re-added through “Get More Styles”
- Custom styles can be permanently deleted via the menu — ensure you no longer need the style or have a backup before deleting
