Podcast Listening

Starting from v2.9.0, the desktop application can generate an audio podcast that discusses the core content of a single PDF article you are currently reading.

The audio is presented in a conversational discussion format, designed to help you understand the reference from multiple perspectives.

How to Use

1. Open a PDF article on the desktop app
2. In the reader toolbar, locate the “Generate Podcast” button next to the “Full Text Translation” button
3. Click it — the system will process the reference’s abstract and generate audio. Once complete, the button changes to “Listen to Podcast”
4. Click “Listen to Podcast” to play

Playback Controls

The playback panel provides:

• Pause / Play
• Rewind 10 seconds
• Fast-forward 10 seconds
• Speed adjustment (0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x)
• Synchronized subtitle display

Notes and Limitations

• The feature currently generates podcasts from PDF files only
• If generation fails, check the attachment size limit (typically 20 MB) and network status, and refer to the error messages displayed
