NoteExpress Web provides note-taking functionality for references. You can create, edit, delete, and tag notes, with full Markdown support.

Creating Notes

• Quick Note — Instantly create a note; content is auto-saved when you leave the editor
• Markdown Note — Opens a dedicated editor with Markdown syntax support

Exporting Notes (v2.7.0+)

Starting from version 2.7.0, notes support export and bidirectional linking.

Select one or more references, then right-click and choose “Export Notes”:

Supported Formats

• Word (.docx)
• Markdown (.md)
• Excel (.xlsx)

Export Modes

Document mode:

• Merge export — Combine all selected notes into a single file, organized by reference — ideal for generating reading reports
• Per-reference export — Generate one independent note file per reference, suitable for project-based archiving
• Per-note export — Save each individual note as a separate file for maximum flexibility

Table mode:

• Merge export — Combine all notes into a single spreadsheet for quick review
• Per-reference export — Generate one sheet per reference

Bidirectional Linking

Type @ in the note editor to quickly select and link to references, attachments, or other notes in the current library.

• Create link — Easily create links pointing to the source reference, other notes, or attachments. Linked notes will also display cross-reference information.
• Quick navigation — Hover over a link in a note and choose to jump to the corresponding reference entry, note, or attachment. You can also insert the full content of a linked note at the current cursor position.
