For references where automatic download was unsuccessful, you can manually search for and download the full text.

Using Built-in Browser

1. Click the reference’s original link or use specific fields to search across databases — this opens the page in the built-in browser
2. Locate and download the full-text file on the target page
3. When the download starts, click “Import to NE Web” as prompted to associate the file with the reference

You can also right-click in the built-in browser and choose “Open in Local Browser” to use your system browser instead.

Custom Data Source Templates

You can add custom search templates based on specific fields such as DOI, Title, arXiv ID, or PMID.

To add a template:

1. Go to the download source settings
2. Add a URL template using double curly braces for field placeholders, e.g., {{doi}}, {{title}}, {{arXivID}}, {{PMID}}
3. Ensure field names are correct and free of typos

Example: For DOI-based retrieval, use https://doi.org/{{doi}}
