A Skill package that can be loaded into an AI assistant. Once loaded and enabled, the assistant automatically detects NoteExpress Web, connects to MCP without manually entering an address, and comes with built-in wiki access links and CSL style creation templates.
Three Capabilities
1. Operate the Library
“Search transformer survey papers and create a folder to put them in”
“Read the PDF of reference N, summarize the key points of page 3, and write them to the note”
Search papers in the library, read PDF full text / extract key points from a page, take notes, create / organize folders, and collect literature (PDF or formatted references) to import into the library.
- When NoteExpress Web is open: read/write operations can be done via the built-in MCP (requires update to v3.2.1 or above).
- When NoteExpress Web is not open: read and query (search / read / summarize) are supported.
2. Answer “How to Use NoteExpress Web”
“How do I sync literature to my phone in NoteExpress Web?”
“Where do I open the PDF full-text translation?”
Ask directly about a feature or where to do a certain step; the assistant accesses and reads the wiki via built-in wiki links and gives accurate steps.
3. Create Custom CSL Styles
“Make a citation style file per the school’s requirements”
Send the clear style rules to the AI tool, and it automatically creates a new style based on the established template. Providing a style close to the desired effect as a reference is recommended for better results. After generation, import the style file in Style Management to use it in the CSL plugin. How to Enable
Import the extracted neweb-harness folder into the AI assistant / place it in the skills directory, and reference or enable it in the conversation.
Notes
- Offline read-only library queries do not depend on MCP; write operations require NoteExpress Web to be open (≥3.2.1) and logged in.
- Write operations are saved to the local library; after opening NoteExpress Web to trigger cloud sync, they become visible across devices.
- Notes only support inline Markdown; use the NoteExpress Web app to edit webdav / rich-text notes.
- Before import, deduplication is performed first; only literature you are authorized to access is collected.
